June 26, 2004 - Living Room Dialogue with Majora Carter

A "Toxic Tour" of the South Bronx

Majora Carter, Director of Sustainable South Bronx, explains how this community organization campaigns to turn this former cement factory into a park. SSB's "Toxic Tour" includes stops at waste transfer stations, power plants, and a malodorous "organic" fertilizer company.

Rather than sitting in a living room, the Network brought participants to witness first hand the efforts of this community organization to stabilize their neighborhood and make it a more healthful place to live.

A tour of the South Bronx engages participants in building a more
sustainable world.
